What is Gas Chromatography?
Gas Chromatography (GC) is a powerful, advanced scientific method used to test the purity and quality of ghee by analyzing its unique composition of fatty acids and volatile compounds. How Ghee Testing with Gas Chromatography Works
Principle: Every type of oil or fat has a unique chemical "fingerprint" or specific percentage of fatty acids. Ghee naturally contains short and medium-chain fatty acids, notably butyric acid, while cheaper vegetable oils or animal fats used for adulteration contain longer-chain fatty acids. GC exploits this difference to identify any foreign substances.
